Easy Ways to Manage pet Hair

It is every pet owner’s worst nightmare: shedding. If there are pets in the house, it is guaranteed hair can be found in just about every room. Both cats and dogs shed their fur, although some more than others, so owning one over the other won’t make much difference. Thus, managing pet hair can be the hardest part of caring for a pet. However, it is something that is manageable and doesn’t take an expensive trip to the pet groomers.

1. Brush often: A lot of shedding from animals comes from their undercoat. The only way to reach and thin it out is by brushing. While it may seem like a chore, brushing a pet can be done at very convenient times. When walking the dog, take a brush along and comb it at various intervals. The fur can just be tossed into the wind. For cats, just simply brush during those times they decide to nap nearby.

2. Give them a bath: Pets should be bathed regardless, but doing so consistently can help wash away a lot of hair. By scrubbing pets down, their entire bodies are being rid of overgrown fur or strands that about to fall out.

3. Trim overgrown areas: Every pet tends to have certain areas where fur seems to grow more so than in others. Think of dogs and their hind legs. Since pets don’t need a salon treatment, owners can easily trim these overgrown sections with a regular set of shears. It will help keep those strands to a minimum.

While getting rid of pet hair is impossible, it is easy to make it less of a nuisance.
